best way to shrink from DVD9 to DVD5

Hi all

Here is the deal:
The project is 103 minutes, burned to a DVD dual layer because it wouldn't fit on a DVD 5. The footage looks good.
What is the best way to take the corresponding quicktime movies, which I have, and reduce them to fit on the 4.7 Gb disk? Do I reduce the quicktime quality and then re-export or should I reset the compression settings in compressor? Which would look better?

any info would be greatly appreciated

Bring your original quicktime export from FCP and drop them into Compressor. Select the "DVD Best 120 mins" setting and encode with that. That will allow your movie to fit onto a single layer DVD.

Yo Strypes

Good lead, thanks for the clue..... I have the movie in 2 parts, each about 55 mins long. Should I then tell compressor to make each part a 60 minute dvd so the 2 of them will fit?

any info greatly appreciated

Nope. Use the 120 min preset for both. Then both of them can fit into 1 DVD.
