Problem with COMPRESSOR - FCP 6

Hi Friends,

I have a problem with COMPRESSOR.

I recently loaded FCP 6.0 into my Power MAC G5 with 10.4.11 OS X. Bought it new, sealed in the box. Yes, I am behind the times.

I can't get COMPRESSOR to engage. Can open it, set up a file with a format
and destination and click SUBMIT... but the thing just doesn't happen. The program
doesn't crash, but it just doesn't engage. No error reading.

I have reinstalled COMPRESSOR and QMASTER to no avail. Then reinstalled the entire FCP 6 suite after performing a clean out with fcs_remover.htm, the older version 2.5.6 for OS X 10.4 - again no improvement. I have updated all my software. But I have not done a complete re-install of my operating system.

Have been to the "sacred" Cow online and found questions and excuses and a couple
answers (which I tried as above), and no solution. Have asked my most competent FCP friends, talked to the FCP person at MAC TALK in Ventura and at SAMYs Camera in Santa Barbara... no answers. Someone told me just to use QT Conversion, forget about Compressor. GRRRRR!!!!

I want to hire someone to help me, either here at my house, or I can bring my
machine (strong woman!!) to LA.

Have you tried Compressor Repair? Its a good first step.
