Crop aliases video

I am using Compressor 3.03.

When I encode from an DVCProHD 720p (1280 x 720) 23.98 to an H264 with a crop of 128 on both the right and the left the result is aliasing in my image. My resulting image is 1024 x 720. If I leave the crop off there is no aliasing in the H264.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I finally figured out a way to do this in Quicktime Pro. (Type in your size, select preserve aspect and select crop.)

But, I'm still wondering why it comes out aliased in Compressor and if there is a way for this not to happen.
