I see a LOT of great looking content on the web, and I can NEVER get my video to look anywhere near as good at data rates similar to what I see online.
I know starting with HDV isn't the best, but I feel like what I get should look much better. I've tried Sorenson Squeeze, DV Kitchen, and right out of compressor too. So its HDV tapes encoded as HDV 1080i60, I then need to convert to the following 1. Ipod .mov or mv4 or whatever (data rate around 762kbps or so) 2. FLV 640 x 480 (data rate around 1300kbps or so) 3. a small WMV 640x480 (data rate around 1400kbps) 4. a large WMV at least 1280x720 (data rate around 10000kbps) Right now I'm doing this in Sorenson Squeeze 7, FCP 6.0.6, and DV Kitchen. I export my timeline from fcp as the same as I import (HDV 1080i60) then use those files in squeeze and dv kitchen to create the encodes. help?
Have you tried experimenting with Compressor's Frame Controls?
