advice on multiple frame rates

I've got a project with 3 kinds of footage so far:
29.97p from a canon 7D
23.98p from a canon 7D
and 60i from a SONY EX3

I want to chose the most sensible timeline set up and I've read various things about it being better to go up in frame rate, but also that 23.98p is ther best option for final output anyway so i should do that, or that no matter what I should deinterlace. The final output would be for screenings and film festivals, so mostly HDCAM and Quicktime files at this point.

I will be editing in Final Cut Pro 7 and I'm going to use compressor to change the 2 types of files to the format that I finally choose.
