What would happen if Apple made FCP a more open application (like Firefox) so that instead of wish-lists like this, it would be relatively easy to write plug-ins to create the functionality we're all wishing for. Sure you can write effects plug-ins now, but the ability to customize and add functionality to the overall application and interface would make FCP unique among NLEs.
