- Full shared project support.
- A Media Database model, using the unique clip identifier number to track and re-link media automatically.
- A folder based project file - like Aperture etc. No more one huge file which can get corrupted.
- Interface redesign to make full use of the space and colours other than light grey. Low overhead so window switching is lighting fast - perhaps even a fully linked interface a'la AE 7.0.
- Integrate Cinema Tools into FCP completely - film database inside FCP project.
- A Filemaker Pro plugin to receive and send FCP formatted XML (auto thumbnail export with XML too).
- Smart Bins.
- Native MXF.
- Full 720p25/50 support (Import is half there with 720p25; lets have 720p50 too, plus a capture codec)
- Transcode on Import options - lots of workarounds sure, but make it integrated and really simple.
- Full print features with plenty of customisation.
- Custom Burn in options - turn on while cutting or for export or ETT (clip names, clip TC, roll, KN etc) Not a filter, an actual constant options setting which auto adds burn-ins to set location.
- Far more options and customisation for film lists.
- Free reign over adding custom Browser columns.
- Love the new Apple Events - lets have lots more please!
- Option to change playback and Digital Cut speed from 24 to 25 and visa, versa in PAL 24fps and PAL 25fps projects.
- Custom Mask sizes as switch-able output options rather than having to lay them into the timeline. If not then we need an RT Mask generator (not filter) as standard.
- Delete confirmations for browser items.
- Unlimited Colour labels (with more contrast).
- Metadata Window to show as many lines as required of Timecode, Keycode, Footage, Frames, InOut, Clip Name, Durations etc.
- Larger TC, KeyCode, Frames displays in general.
- More TC options - so we can display any counter 24, 25, 25DF (yes DF), 50 etc in the same project for any sequence type.
- Sequence Drop - drop a clip to auto create a sequence setup to that size/codec/framerate etc.
- Get rid of the modal Capture overlay screen - instead use the main Capture setup window and improve the display to show TC running, clip details, a list of clips/tapes being captured etc. If people need the large display, make it an option.
- Built in calculator with all TC, Frame, Film and data functions.
- Fullscreen app preference: dock and taskbar can be set to hide when FCP is launched.
- DPX sequence support: recognise a DPX sequence of frames, create a holding clip (a/la AE) and read header TC and roll folder or SMTP UserBits. GlueTools DPX components could be used for the rest, but full 10bit RGB rendering will be needed for all effects etc. With LUT's this all gets very tricky though, so no bigy if you can't squeeze it in this time :-)
- More FXPlug's as standard - GPU accelerated etc, etc.
- More centralised Settings: it seems like they are a bit strewn around, maybe they could be more centralised to one location/tab/menu.
- Overall user customisation - interface colours, font sizes, brightness, etc.
