A NEW "TOOL" OR "FEATURE"

This option would act somewhat like a slip or roll edit only it would slip through the clips in the timeline:

Lets say I wanted to move the insert shot (highlighted clip 85-1) forward or backward within the time line but did not want to have to trim the master shot (85A-2). As I selected the "new tool" the master clip(85-2) would stay trimmed(performing a roll edit on to the clip(s) attached) to my insert shot (85-1).

let me know if this makes sense, if not. I will try to further explain.

maybe this is a wasted tool, but hey, i've seen far less useful features.

If at first you don't succeed, keep ****ing it up 'till it works!

The tool already exists. It's called Slide. Press SS to activate the tool. On the Tool Palette, it's in the same box as Slip and Time Remap.
