I have already posted this but I want it so bad i'll post it again.

IN-TIMELINE BAKING

i would like to be able to convert any clip, still, motn, or keyframed element to a qt movie without leaving the fcp interface at all.

fcp is qtpro so it seems to me that having to export and re-import clips and such for color could be done ON THE TIMELINE.

just as nest behaves when they are created so should this in-TL bake occur.

i.e.
right click the element
choose bake from the contextual menu
the element is processed
fcp assigns an editable reference name to the clip + the word " bake " and puts it into the media browser
the clip becomes independent of all reference to the master.

then you could apply filters like smooth cam to it and it could process in say.... 1m.

it doesn't seem like too much to ask.

i hear you,
but i think there is a better solution / request:

make Color work!
it should cope with speed changes, etc. and not NEED baking,

neither should Smoothcam, etc

i suspect that by making "Baking" a function, apple would fear they were admitting that there were things in FCP that were problematic.
and they will never do that.
