Duplicate and Increment

I just want one tiny, tiny little addition:

After Effects has an "increment and save" feature. It changes the filename of your project file from "001" to "002" or whatever and saves it for you.

I want Final Cut to have a "duplicate and increment" function, so I can more quickly duplicate-and-increment my timelines as I work.

sounds interesting.
this is what i do:
i duplicate my current timeline in the browser, ("nick's project cut2" becomes "nick's project cut2 copy"winking smiley
then i rename the CURRENT sequence ("nick's project cut3"winking smiley
and keep right on working in the current timeline.
very simple.

i do a similar thiing with the project files, too.
make diuplicates and date-stamp those,
and continue to work in the "master project"

Yeah, I do the same thing. I just use After Effects so much that I've grown accustomed to the increment-and-save feature.

Come to think of it, After Effects does something else that's often useful: When you duplicate a comp the name of which ends in a number, with cmd-D, it increments the number. So "A01-1-01" becomes "A01-1-02."

Which totally sucks when your comp is named "logo v1 720p60" and the duplicate becomes "logo v2 720p61." But hey, points for at least making the effort.
