Arghs. My bad I meant "ProRes Proxy". It's really more for faster render previews, which is sorta where the render in ProRes option was going, but a lighter codec would render a lot faster. Thing is, when i'm doing offline cuts, I just want to preview the cuts/filters as fast as possible, so I don't mind rendering to a lighter codec.
Naturally, it would also be great if they could somehow keep the ProRes renders so you can export the whole sequence out as ProRes without having to render those bits. A bit of a side topic...
