where is the imported footage gone

I'm on the second day with the 10.0.1 trial version. So far so good, until now.
First, I imported some footage to the new project from a Sony HDV tape. Edited one scene, and was ready to import some more for the second scene.
But here is my confusion .- I'm not able to locate the new footage anywhere in the project.
WHAT WRONG HAVE I DONE?
I believe its has to do with data/media managements.(?)

Go to the hard drive where you have set FCX to store your clips. You should see a folder saying Final Cut Events. In that folder will be another folder with the name of your project. Open that folder and you will see some more folders. Your footage should be in the folder that says 'Transcoded Media'. Open that and you will see your clips.
