Skipping time without motion using FCPX

I am new to using FCPX and I wondered if you could help me with something I have not been able to find in any of the forums. I record birds for a hobby which usually involves finding a spot where they are known to spend time, setting up a camera to record for hours. Is there a feature in FCP that will allow me to take a photo or slice from the video as a baseline and then to cut all parts that do not have motion in the shot so that this video would be condensed to pure video of motion instead of hours of skimming? Any assistance you can provide would be great.
