Newbie Question on Opening Project

So I've just upgraded to Lion and trying the free trial of FCP X. I'm not surprised at all the uproar (get it..."Lion"...uproar?). Simple things like Saving and Opening are now complicated. First off, X saved the footage to the Event..so I found it had installed 160GB of footage on my internal drive. I copied this footage to the external drive (now I have two sets of footage on that drive), but now I won't open that project. There is no "Open Project" command. Double clicking on the "Currentversion" document has no effect. Any suggestions?
