DSLR + Separate Audio workflow
March 12, 2012 10:32AM
Just getting ready to start a program that was shot on a 5D, with audio recorded on a separate recorder (all talking heads). I have a pretty solid workflow going in FCP 6/7 for how to handle this type of program (syncing audio, creating subclips, organizing footage, etc), but haven't dived in to the same situation in X to know whether I should attempt this program in X or stick with 6/7 for now.

I've done a few smaller projects in X, and I'm always learning new things, but this is the first time I've had this type of program that I'm considering doing in X.

I know X can sync audio, but what have you folks experienced when working with this type of program? In this case, I've got a single long audio file with a bunch of shorter video files that will all sync to the audio. Any tips or pitfalls that I should be aware of before diving in? Or am I better off cutting this in 6/7?

Thanks.
