FCPX 10.8 lost 3 days of work even though we rebooted 2 times a day and each stage of work was there

In the past I discovered an issue that sometimes fcpx would not save and we always Command Z to make sure it is automatically saving. This time we rebooted FCPX and the computer numerous times and noticed the work was there each time. This time it went back to where it was 3 days ago without anything that was saved showing up. Never happened this way before.

Is there a way to find a later version like in FCP7? Any ideas would be appreciated. Have a big deadline tonight.

Each project has a Backup folder, however for some reason Apple decided to only create one backup every 15 minutes and have that version overwrite all previous backups. So if the data you want is more than 15 minutes old you're out of luck.
