DRAW MASK TEXT IN FCPX.4

Hi,

Hope you can help. Thanks. I'm trying to draw mask text in FCPX.4, but every time I start to move the control point within the area of the text, the text box comes up and won't allow me to move the control move. It only moves the text within the box. Not sure what i'm doing wrong. Have looked at a few videos, but don't see any difference from what i'm doing and what they are doing. Can you help me?
