Exporting footage for testing purposes

So, you are working on your film in FCPX and you want to see what your footage really looks like on your big-screen TV in the living room after a variety of tweaks.

How do people export the footage for that purpose?

Via their iPad? If so what codec to you use?

Would very much appreciate knowing what route people take for this purpose.
