Workaround so dissolves can start or finish on edits: Two free transitions

FCP Classic editors are used to setting the alignment of edits so they can start or finish of an edit (as well as the 'centered on edit' default).



You can't do that in Final Cut Pro X, so here are two new transitions as a workaround:

Nice work Alex. Is there a way to add a cross dissolve (or dip to colour, by preference) that *doesn't* auto add an audio fade?

Apple should be paying Alex to fix the things they broke in this release

Jude,

Not adding an audio fade seems almost impossible to fix, but I'll nose around inside the application to see what I can do.

However, if you'd like a 'start or finish on edit version' of the Fade to Color transition, would you like a single transition effect with a pop-up that you can choose the alignment when you apply it, or a discrete transition for each alignment?

I also might as well add an alpha channel option so the transition could go to a transparent colour for use in secondary storylines.

I can't speak for Jude, but I would prefer the popup option rather than multiple effects.
