FCPX on a MacBook Pro - good enough for HD editing?
February 04, 2012 09:22PM
Hi everyone.... I am using FCP7 on a macpro which works very well for our business SD and HD projects. But I also volunteer for out community cable channel to tape local events. Our cable company is offering to provide (at no cost to me) a macbook pro with Final Cut X at their cost so I can do some volunteer editing for our local community cable channel.... would that combination work well together? Much of the cable channel shooting is done using minidv tape but some shooting is done using a JVC 100 HD camcorder recording on sd cards. Would that macbook pro and FCPX system also work with HD formats such as xdcam hd? I realize the controversy on FCPX and I intend to keep the FCP7 on the macpro tower. I use Toast 11 for bluray... works ok. Thanks for any advice, comments and suggestions... Ron
