Well - not sure if it's ready for most of us doing broadcast or film...but Larry Jordan did a sober assessment of the launch and where it is now...may be old news for LAFCPUG members but interesting over at fcp.co

I think Larry's analysis is sensible.
People complained about the app but I think the "marketing" team and surrounding "decision makers" really blew it. They damaged Apples reputation.

The app itself is on the face track. Of course that creates its own bumps though (witness some of the bugs and beach balls). Somehow I have an image of the coders akin to that guy on the Ed Sullivan Show (I show my age I guess) who used to keep all those plates spinning at the same time. They have to add "catch up" features, features that are unique, under the hood work that many of the plugin developers need so they can do their work (NeatVideo plugin coming up next), support for developers like Assisted Editing (XML improvements), swatting bugs . . . and the updates seem to be happening at around every 12 weeks or so!

But Larry should get an author to write his jokes...

(and maybe somebody to perform them also)

Now that's an emerging market. Writing jokes for trainers.

Either Training or Demos need jokes. But you don't start with it. You start with a short story...

Of course Larry has tones of demoing and training qualities. To say the least.

Stand up comedy is just not one of them smiling smiley
