As some people asked me whether I could implement direct SRT subtitle import into XTI — I did it.
Would be great to have some real world testers. So if you got spare time drop me an email (kiel at spherico dot com) -Andreas Some workflow tools for FCP [www.spherico.com] TitleExchange -- juggle titles within FCS, FCPX and many other apps. [www.spherico.com]
don't get it
I have my subs as pict and my STL (all from Belle Nuit) in a folder I "mix" it all with your app... obtain a .fcpxml but when I try to import that XML into Fcp X I get this message : Error in FCPX
What did you try TitleExchange or XTI?

Francois,
XTI doesn't support "picture based" subtitles. -Andreas Some workflow tools for FCP [www.spherico.com] TitleExchange -- juggle titles within FCS, FCPX and many other apps. [www.spherico.com]
Oups, I thought XTI was an abbreviation for Title Exchange !
I just wondered about the workflow to go from Belle Nuit to Fcp X, if it is possible .... now I understand you need TEP for that if you want to edit the subs. like you told me in that thread Previous thread Out of curiosity I just wondered about the "no so good" methode from Belle Nuit to FcpX.
From Belle Nuit export an SRT file, use that with XTI.

Andreas I have been posting everywhere this week for a subtitle solution in FCPX.
In FCP7 I imported subtitles in xml into the timeline - I did this so I could edit in a foreign language. Then I would format the subtitles and do a hard burn for english version. I want to be able to do this in FCPX and do an english hard-burn but then use the .srt file (at final movie output) for foreign languages in Quicktime players or DVD. I would like to know if this is what you can help me achieve? my email is jon@emptymindfilms.com
Jon,
Along with TitleExchange there come 2 apps (XTI,XTE) One can be used to import subtitle files (Spruce STL or SRT) into FCPX, the other one to extract subtitles out of a FCPXML and convert them into a Spruce STL. Both apps do come with help PDFs (in the Help menu item). For DVDs with DVD Studio you need the STL, creating a DVD with Encore requires an Encore text script, other authoring tools require their own format. YouTube requires SRT other players a different format. To convert to the needed formats TitleExchange will help, there are more than 30 formats available there. So your steps would be to create a STL or SRT file. In FCPX create a "template" - means create an empty project with the right settings, add a title of your choice to it and export the project as XML. With XTI open the template, then open the SRT/STL. The app will create a new FCPXML. Then import this XML into FCPX. Regards Andreas Some workflow tools for FCP [www.spherico.com] TitleExchange -- juggle titles within FCS, FCPX and many other apps.
