hdmi playback

i have a 2014 mac pro loaded.... when i hook up the monitor w/ an hdmi cable i only rcv video on monitor no audio thru monitor ... the audio is playing back thru the mac pro tower only.... what am i doing wrong?

Check your sound output settings in System Preferences are set to the HDMI also check that your monitor is set up to receive sound via HDMI.
