Electronic Arts Tiburon is looking for a well rounded assistant video editor to be a part of the creative team that produces videos for well known sports games. Assist our team of editors by overseeing the machine room and delivering projects assets. Our ideal assistant enjoys keeping up with the latest technology and works well as part of a team.

Assistant Video Editor (Machine Room Technician)

Prerequisites:

- Working knowledge of digital video capture, compression, and production tools and processes.
- Must have strong Apple Final Cut Pro editorial skills.
- If coming from outside the game industry, new hire is expected to learn/understand how game-play and real time issues effect visual direction and editorial techniques to compensate for such limitations.
- Must be capable of balancing a project's creative requirements with schedule, budget, and resource limitations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting skills with both software and hardware related issues
- Capable of working in a fast paced environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Minimum A.A. degree in video production related studies or 2 years post production experience.
- Two years demonstrated ability to:
- Monitor Job Request System; define and present effective alternate solutions for achieving desired results on schedule.
- Working knowledge of central video machine room equipment such as HD/SD tape machines, signal flow, routers, and patch bays.
- Knowledge of DVD Studio Pro authoring a plus.
- Knowledge of industry PC/MAC video compression.
- Strong knowledge of non linear video edit systems (Final Cut Pro)
- Organize and log video tape library system and provide continual updates using Scheduall software.
- Digital video compressions such as Sorenson squeeze, compressor,
- Video machine rooms, signal flow, video/audio input and output hardware.
- One or more years experience with MS office products for documentation, scheduling and communication (Word, Excel, Project, Access, Outlook)


Basic Knowledge of:

o EA Sports game titles (Madden, NCAA, Tiger)
o Pre-Production as it relates to video production for games and marketing
o HD camera systems, lighting techniques, equipment setup and teardown.
