Don,

Wanting to work with someone in CA is fine. Implying that only a "real post house" can do quality work is a little misguided (at the very least) and not conducive to eliciting help from "freelancers" or "desktop producers" (what does this mean?), especially considering that many freelancers and independent producers are often employed by post houses and many of whom are experts in their field.
