Media Composer and Firefox Conflict?

Kicking the tires on MC6 and realized I wasn't able to lasso. A quick Google search found an Avid forum thread from 2010 stating there was an unknown and mysterious conflict between MC3 and Firefox 3.5.x.

Fast forward to 2012 - MC6 and Firefox 10.0.2 - and sure enough, when I closed Firefox I was able to lasso again. Anyone have any insight into why this hasn't been addressed yet?
