Dissolves and text go bright at head, tail, keyframe.

Since I have been using Final Cut Pro HD working with DVCPRO HD media my default cross dissolves make the footage brighter (like a very subtle flash) at the head and tail of the dissolve. Similarly, when I text over a clip, the clip is brightened altogether. Adding a keyframe on the text clip to start a fade down causes the clip to brighten at the keyframe and at the end of the fade down.

I haven't found any news of this nor fixes.

Does anyone have suggestions.
