Outpoint changing during capture.

Outpoint changing during capture.

Has anyone else run into this one? We've recently update to FCP 5 and we're running several systems on the Xsan. We log our clips to capture, select the logged clips and batch capture. At the end of the capture, the clip durations are shortened. The start times remain as logged but the out times are changed. Is this a bug with FCP 5?

are you logging from the tape, or simply enering the numbers?

what sort of discrepancies are you getting?
are they consistant?

for example, always 1 frame short?
10frames?
a percentage?

is it the same across all your systems?

what's your format: DV, Uncompressed?
what's your deck control: FW, 9 pin?

this forum is for REPORTING bugs, and that involves very detailed description of what is happening, so that someone else can duplicate and confirm the probelm.
with all those systems you can probably do that process yourself.

i havent heard of this as a bug in FCP5, but it's early days yet.
so please write back with more information.

Thanks Nick for you response.

I was digitizing on a system with an AJA card and capturing from digital beta and going to DVCPRO50 format. The source was NDF and the original length of the logged clip was 15:01:00 and ended up being 14:07:00. The day prior, I logged a clip that was 29:30:00 in length and was about 1:30:00 shorter in length after batch capturing it. This problem has come up on several of our systems.
