FCP5: Film Properties disapear from clips in timeline

i;ve imported a Flex file into Cinematools, and exported an XML batchlist, and opened that in FCP5.
everything is fine, and i can open the film related columns in the browser and all the info is there.
such as:
LabRoll,
KeyNumber,
Ink Number,
etc.

similarly, if i open a clip's preperties, and check the FILM tab, all the info is there.

however, if i cut a slate into the timeline, and open it's properties there,
the film info is gone!
the only info i get is
sound TC, and
sound roll.

weirder:
when i drag the clips back into the browser, all the info is back!

Does this change if you change timeline sequence settings?
