Single Frame Import Problems

In User Preferences ? Editing, change the Still Frame length to 1 frame.

Import a set of targas or tiffs, whatever.

Drag them to the timeline or try to cut them into the sequence. You get an Insufficient Content For Edit error message.

Tested in 5.02 and 5.03. Multiple systems (4).

If you look at the logging info for the still frames, you'll see a media in-point of 00:01:00:00 and an out-point of 00:00:59:23 (For a 23.98 project, I'm working in HD). Duration is 0 instead of 1 frame, hence the error.

I have used Targa sequences in onlines before in FCP 4 with no issues.

Any ideas for work arounds? Is there a way to change the duration of hundreds of stills?

Is it not happening for some people?

Actually, the 2 frame fix isn't proper either. If you drag the clip to the timeline it will put two frames in the timeline instead of one.

You see, I want to import a sequence of Targa files (let's say 100). In FCP 4.5 you could set the duration to 1 frame and then drag all the clips to the timeline and they would create an animation.

Try it and you'll see what I'm talking about.
