Help me please!! I am trying to burn a dual layer dvd to a lacie d2 external drive. and when the formating finishes, it says that it is unsuccessful and that the image exceeds the max alowed size for a dual layer config. My project is 5.9GB. What's wrong??
Thanks so much,

Hi all.

Cathy, before you started your DVDSP project, did you properly set your DVDSP preferences?

There is a preference setting where you tell your project the size of DVD-R to which your are recording your project. The choices are 4.7 and 8.5.

For dual layer DVD-R media, make sure that your DVD-R size is set to 8.5.

I hope this information helps.

Take care.

I always use the Advance Burn > Build and Advance Burn > Format...

And when you do Format, the Preferences window comes up to remind you to pick the drive, and on the middle tab, pick the size of the disc.
