dvd+r skips/pixelates on some players

I've experienced a problem where the dvd will freeze after an hour of play or pixelate and stutter. The video is 2 hours. I'm using Compressor with a two pass VBR and a 6 mbps maximum preset. I'm also using the A.Pack to convert the audio to AC3. Then I'm building the DVD in DSP. Burning to a DVD+R. It plays fine on my Sony DVD player but the client's player has the above problems. Their player is only 2 years old. Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks

Try switching brands of disk. Testing shows that some brands of DVD disks fare poorly in certain brands of players. Not sure why. Top brands to pick from include Maxell, Fuji, TDK, Sony and maybe a couple others.

I assume you aren't using bargain basement or house brands.

Anyway, whenever I encounter a disk that plays fine in one player, I know the programming is fine. If it doesn't play in another player, then the problem nearly always goes away by switching disk brands.
