Alternate Scene-DVD

Working on a short project and the director shortened a scene in the middle of the film. Any suggestions on adding the alternative scene to the dvd?

project is 20 minutes/ scene about 7 minutes

Any changes to the original material need all the original .mov to be re-edited and re-encoded and replaced in the DVDSP project. There is no way to cut out a section of the MPEG content or add more in the middle of a completed MPEG file within DVD SP.
