error on some dvd players

I just burned my first dvd on pro. When I went to play it on my sony dvd player I got a 13:60 "the disk is dirty error. I burned 2 more dvd's and got the same error. I tried to play it on my pioneer dvd player but it wouldn't play. It did however play with out a hitch on the dvd player with my mac g5. What gives?

You didn't mention the disk brand. All disk brands are incompatible with certain players, and some have horrible track records. No brand is compatible with all players, but some are much worse than others. Try a different brand first before looking for other issues.

Brands to consider are Maxell, Sony, TDK, Fuji, and a few others.

Brands to avoid are Memorex, Iomega, and every house brand.

Also, be sure NOT to use paper labels.
