DVD HICKUP

hey everyone,

getting a message while formatting and I think im missing a setting or something.

"The recording device reported the error #6: Power on, reset, or bus device reset has occured.
(0x29, 0x00.)"

any thoughts?

This message sounds like a burner mechanism problem. Can you burn DVD's with Toast?

i think i'll try that next.

i bought this tower used, my first thought was that the internal burner was bad, so i switched to an external lacie i have and still no luck.

well, i made the DVD with Toast 7 but i had to bring the TS folder over to my ibook g4 in order to get it done.

I used Toast 7 on the tower (which i brought over from the same iBook) and it still kicked it back to me this time saying there was a problem with the OS. I updated the OS on the tower, so it is still a mystery to me what the problem is.

I shouldn't have to go through this every time so if anyone has any thoughts it would be cool to get some insight.
