ok, im in dvdspro and i have a 1 hour 56min video that i can ALMOST fit on a disc. i think if i chose AC3 as my audio option i could squeeze it on.

but i cant find audio options anywhere - and the manual is ZERO HELP!

anyone able to point me in the right direction?

To my knowledge AC-3 can only be created by Compressor
(or A-Pack if you are on an older system) and not by DvDspro.

If you created your video in fcp you can also launch compressor from there.

Wayne,

In Compressor, when you submit a batch encode you choose which video encode and which audio encode by the pull down menu next to the file to be encoded. AC3 (Dolby AC3) is one selection rather than .aiff.

BTW- Compressor always works for me!

i know where it is in compressor. i was just looking for it in dvdspro... thanks though : )

i cant imagine why dvdspro doesnt give you audio options anywhere, it gives video options, why not audio?!?!??! that just ridiculous

Since DVD Studio Pro is a DVD authoring application, it requires that all the assets be pre-conditioned before assembly.

That's the way it has been since DVDSP 1.0. Encoding duties are not part of DVD Studio Pro as with iDVD.

A Pack was originally a separate application in FCP 3 and has been incorporated into Compressor since then.
