How can I remove an item from the assets bin OR from somewhere it's being used?

Very confused here.

Related to my last post, I simply want to DELETE the aif from the menu where I dragged it. But I can't select it anywhere. When I simulate the menu I hear the aif being played.

1) It's too loud. How do I turn it down?

2) What if I DON'T want it to play with the menu? I can't find it in the menu track to delete it. And I can't delete it from the assets bin cause it says it's in use.

This seems to be a horrible loop I'm caught in. Please help.

1) You can't you'll need to go back to Soundtrack Pro or whatever then bring it back in.

2) Select the Menu (in Graphical View for example) and then check the General tab of the Property Inspector. At the bottom you'll see the Audio section. Select the aif and delete it.

Hopefully you can break out of the horrible loop now,
