I believe that if you encode media as 24p (or 23.98) in Compressor and import the compressed asset into DVDSP, it will burn and play correctly (2:3 pulldown flag for real-time playback, true 24p encoding on the disc). However, it will show as a 30 fps asset in DVDSP for some reason. The big bummer here is that it makes it difficult to find the correct frame for setting loop points, since all the timing is done on a 30 frames-per-second reference. The other thing to watch for is that I have heard if you let DVDSP do the MPEG-2 encoding, it will not keep the 24p material as 24p but will instead apply the pulldown and encode the asset as 30i. Therefore, it is imperative that you encode in Compressor if you want to keep your media as 24p. Hopefully this is an issue that will be addressed in the next version of DVDSP, along with Blu Ray support.
