Can't burn with copyright
October 13, 2008 11:05AM
I just burned a DVD and I wanted to include copyright protection. It burned fine, but the log window said this device does not support burning copyright ( or something like that) I am burning it on my iMac so it should be just fine right? Thanks, Dave

No not just fine smiling smiley

You have to go to replication to use copy protection. You are burning and that is the same as duplication. Replication and Duplication are not the same thing.

To make a project with copy protection you'll need to Output to DLT (Digital Linear Tape) which uses a SCSI interface. You'll want to find a used DLT4000 or DLT8000. For CSS you should be ok price wise but Macrovision will sometimes require additional costs & and agreements.

You can also find a Rep facility that takes Tape Files on DVD-R. Then Output DDP or CMF fileset and burn that to DVD-R. It won't play in a DVD Players like that but will be like the files found on DLT.
