Get formatting successful message, but dvd player can't play it

Hi:

i'm trying to build and burn a dvd of a pro res project. as my assets meet hd specs, i'm trying to make it hd. i believe that i have properly built the project. it plays perfectly from the timeline on the viewer. It functions perfectly in simulator. When I use build and burn, I get a clean log, and the process ends with the message: successfully formatted. .....but it doesn't play, on my blu ray player it seems to be read as a photo feature, and i get a message that reads DVDVD_TS. my old standard dvd player says it doesn't recognize the disk. It does, however, play on my G5 dvd player (and looks great.)

i have a apple-supplied pioneer 109 disk burner. i'm not really even sure this thing burns hd/

any suggestions for what i should do to maintain the highest visual levels?
