overlay'sPosted by James T
what's up guys,
I have a chapter menu made through photoshop, that has multiple overlay buttons. Some buttons include black text (overlaid with red text), and other buttons include black text (overlaid with small pic). The question is, how can I get the color in my pictures for the overlay? The red text is no problem, it's the multiple color settings that I cant figure out. this might help explain... Both the credits & menu text buttons have an overlay with red text that is obviously hidden at the moment. But its the face i need color out of. Any suggestions? Anything helps guys thanks for the time, J
Hold on - you want to make the face in the top button show red when selected?
Easy enough as long as the face graphic is one colour - on the overlay layer simply add in the face in red and it should work... the background should have everything as it will appear unselected, and the overlay just the highlight shapes. You can set the colour using DVDSP...
hey hal,
No, I wanted the face in top to show full color when selected? I am aware that DVDSP, can handle 3 overlay colors; blue, black, and red. but was hoping for a miracle. I dont know, is there way to hide a dropzone until selected I dont think this is going to happen, I have already created a different layout. if anyone as any ideas, let me know Thanks for your time, J
OK- how about putting the full colour image on the background, and using a solid shape to mask it off - set the shape up as an overlay and use the opacity settings to make it 100% when normal (i.e. fully showing) and 0% when selected (i.e. fully hidden). This will cover the face when not selected, and reveal it when you move to the button.
Check here for more info on this, including limitations and things to watch out for: [www.editorsbin.com] The sub picture stream can hold four colours, and these can be any colour, not just red, blue black, etc. You have to 'map' the colours that you want to show to the ones in the file...
