Running DVD Studio Pro 3, OS 10.3.9.

I've had a DVDSP project in my hard disk for over two years -- my editing reel.
For the past several months (since November 2005), I haven't touched the project file, so I ditched the Video_TS folders, MPEG folders, etc.

Today I had to burn another copy of my reel, so I opened up the project file. All the media is still intact -- m2vs, AIFFs, etc. But when I go to Build, the "Compiling Main Menu" window freezes at 1% and stays there for a good 15 minutes. If I click on Cancel, it doesn't respond, and when I look in Finder, all that was done was the creation of the Video_TS and Audio_TS folders.

This does not seem normal, as my reel used to only take about 10-15 minutes *total* to encode before it's ready for Format. Since my last successful DVD burn from this project file, the only things that have changed in my overall system are that I've started running TechTools, MacJanitor, and FCP Rescue.

I tried dumping DVD Studio Pro preferences from my User - Library - Preferences folder and then doing a restart, but to no avail. Before I plunge into a re-install, does this ring a bell for anybody? Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just took out the original DVD Studio Pro 3 (Academic) disc and did a reinstall. Didn't fix the problem. I even trashed the entire main menu and redid all the buttons and connections from scratch, and it still freezes at 1%. Help!

One symptom that bothers me a great deal is that I can hear the G5's fan whirr up as the Build starts, but when it hits the freeze point, the fan winds down and stops.
