Do I have a dual-layer burner?

How do I tell if I have a dual-layer burner? I've checked the system info and it only gives me manufacturer and serial number type of info. My particular burner came with my computer which I purchased new in December of 2005. It's a quad G5 @ 2.5mHz.

Also, if I do have a dual-layer burner, what brand is reliable? And what should the label read? DVD-9? So on and so forth...

TIA

Yes, you have a DL-burner that can handle either DVD-R or DVD+R discs. Most G5's since about 2004 have come installed with DL-DVD mechanisms. What is the manufacturer of the unit in your Quad? My Quad has a Pioneer 110-D.

Thanks John. Suddenly I can find where it lists DVD+R DL whereas I didn't see it before. It doesn't list the manufacturer though, just the specifications.
