Sound missing on DVD

I exported my .fcp file to a quicktime file, opened with Compressor and compressed using MPEG - 2 option, then opened with DVD Studio 4. Initially, when I tried to add the video file to DVDSP it acted as if (in the add file viewer window) as if my file wasn't the correct format for DVDSP. So I manually dragged the file into DVDSP, which it had no problem with, and burned to a DVD. The picture quality was fine, but there was no sound. The MPEG-2 file on my desktop that Compressor spit out has no sound, so I believe the problem started there. I've never used Compressor before - are there special steps I don't know about to make the sound export with the video? The sound on the file, while in Compressor DOES work, just not after the export?

Anything at all would help.

Thanks

Do you have anything in A1?

You typically use elementary streams (separate) in DVDSP. So mpeg-2 for video and PCM or AC3 (Dolby) for audio. You need to encode the audio and drag that into dvdsp, add it to A1 and try again by the sounds of things.

Maybe check the manual for compressor quick or tuts on here like:

Plus remember PCM audio takes up more bandwidth than Dolby streams. Aif = 1.56 Mbps and Stereo AC3 = .192 - .224 Mbps typically.

So 9.8 Mbps - 1.56 Mbps leaves 8.2 if you're maxing out bandwidth, which many dont. If you want 7.5 Max then 7.5 (total) - 1.56 (Audio) = 5.9 Max bitrate (Video) with no buffer.
