stretching on plasma screens

hi:

i have a prores project. i built a dvd in studio pro, and it looks perfect on the studio pro view screen, and in the simulator. it looks perfect on crt televisions (like my sony trinitron!) too. but it stretches out on widescreens. ... what to do??

You just need to make sure the DVD Player & TV settings match! If you've made a 4:3 DVD the DVD player should be set to 4:3 and the TV. You'll have black bars on the left & right or you can zoom in (urgh!!).

Sounds like a setup issue rather than a authoring issue,

ok. thanks... i have read (i don't remember where) that many of the plasma screens tended to stretch certain dvds to a full screen image. i have seen references to the need during the authoring process to make sure settings were such to prevent this from happening.
