First of all this forum is incredibly useful!
I burn DVDs using DVDSP, using the Mpeg 2 encoding from Compressor. I have found that some of my DVDs do not play in certain players. It plays on some players and in all computers, but simply does not play in certain players. What are the possible reasons for this? Also, is DVD+ or - better and does brand really matter? Thanks, Steve
If it flatout won't play, as oppose to stuttering etc, then usually the issue could be:
- Burn speed. You're burning too fast. - Your media. You are not using A-Grade manufactured media. - You're burning the disc outside of dvdsp and doing it incorrectly. But there are a bunch of other issues it could be!! YES Brand does kinda matter but the manufacturer more so and yep +/- can matter but it all depends where you disc is going to play!! Some older (and newer) players will not play DVD recordable discs. You can check a players compatibility at [www.videohelp.com].
