Hi,
OK, this is a show that cut in HDV PAL, and then downconverted to SD PAL for output.
Downconvert sequence settings were:
Frame size - 1280x720
Aspect ratio - HDTV 720p (16:9)
Pixel aspect ratio - PAL-CCIR 601 (720x576) Anamorphic 16:9 (checked on)
Field dominance - lower
Editing timebase- 25
QT Video settings Compressor = DV-PAL Quality = 100%
Audio settings rate = 48kHz Depth = 16 bit Config = Channel Grouped
I output as SC QT, and then went thru Compressor.
The assets I have available right now are a self-contained QT .mov, and the MPEG2 & AC3 assets created by Compressor.
I haven't used DVDSP in while (so I'm rusty), and this is a pretty simple output (screener) so I was going to just drop the QT into iDVD & burn it. The show looks fine (correct aspect ratio) in the QT, but when I drop it into the iDVD, the preview looks squeezed - is this right?
Or are there iDVD specs I can change?
Note: this is for the client to watch primarily on his computer. Later, he wants to burn copies to sell, bother here & abroad. (NTSC conversion is later in the workflow.)
Thanks!!
