Importing subtitles into DVDSP 4.0

Hello, I have a project that requires 3 different language subtitles that are being done by a subtitle company. They have sent me a few examples to test out which works and thus far they all say either wrong format or timecode issues. I have received an .stl, .sst and.son - is there anywhere that will tell me an easy way to import these simply and quickly? Thanks What format should I ask them to send me the subtitles in?

STL will work. I bet they are PC based files and the line endings are incorrectly set to CF instead of the more mac friendly LF. Can you create a short subtitle file using text edit and see if that imports for you?
