what is the best Quicktime HD codec for crisp text in DVDSP?

I exported a Quicktime mov in the DVCPRO HD 720p60 format, 1280x720 and when building the MPEGs in DVD Studio Pro, the simple, large Ariel text in the movie, white on black, is ragged, not crisp at all. The Quicktime looks clean, but DVD Studio Pro, even at 2 pass VBR, 6.0 encode setting, can't seem to handle it. I know its going from HD to SD but still, I've seen better handling of text from SD Quicktimes. I prefer not to go through Compressor. Should I output a ProRes HQ Quicktime to get better results? Or is there something in DVD Studio Pro that I can set differently?

Don't feed DVD SP anything other than a SD resolution file. It doesn't know how to scale video. Prepare your video at 720x480 anamorphic with 8 bit uncompressed. Check your video on a television monitor attached to your computer if you have one. This can avoid problems with scaling artifacts.
