Putting a PDF into DVDSP - as well as videos

I keep getting stuck on how to get a pdf into DVDSP - I follow all the various intructions I've gleaned from an internet trawl but it isn't playing in simulator or from the .img file through iDVD. The manual is not user friendly in this respect. Am I missing a trick somewhere? Is it to do with the Menu I'm assigning it to? Thanks, Chris Rawlence
